# Celestial (celestial.uz)

> Celestial is an AI-powered learning platform for English and programming, built in Uzbekistan. Every skill is assessed by AI rather than by hand — writing, speaking, reading, listening, pronunciation and code — including VEGA, an AI speaking examiner with a face and a real-time voice. Individual learners use Celestial on their own to prepare for IELTS and for coding interviews. Language centers and schools run their own classes on the same platform, assigning Celestial's content or uploading their own, and letting the AI assess their students.

## What Celestial is

Celestial is a web-based learning platform built in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. It
serves two kinds of user from one product:

- **Individual learners**, who sign up on their own to learn English (A1–C2),
  prepare for IELTS, study mathematics, or learn programming and practise
  coding-interview problems. No school or referral is needed.
- **Language centers and schools**, which use Celestial as their learning
  platform. A director invites teachers, teachers create classes and invite
  students, and then assign either Celestial's own content or materials they
  upload themselves. Student work is assessed by Celestial's AI, and results
  reach teachers, directors and parents as reports.

## How assessment works

All assessment on Celestial is performed by AI. There are no human examiners
and no human markers involved in grading.

- **Writing** — graded against band descriptors, with per-criterion feedback.
- **Speaking** — practised live with VEGA, an AI examiner with an animated face
  and a real-time voice. VEGA listens, responds in conversation, and assesses
  the exchange. She is software, not a person.
- **Pronunciation** — scored word by word from the learner's microphone.
- **Reading and listening** — marked automatically, with an explanation of why
  each answer is right or wrong.
- **Code** — run in the browser and checked against automated test suites, the
  way a coding interview checks a solution.
- **Placement** — an adaptive (computerised-adaptive) test that reports a CEFR
  band in about a minute.

## Subjects

- English, A1 to C2, including IELTS preparation across all four skills.
- Programming and technology: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Python, and
  generative-AI skills.
- Mathematics, including an interactive equation sandbox.
- A reading library with an in-browser reader and audiobooks.

## Languages

The interface and learning content are available in English, Russian and Uzbek.

## What Celestial is not

- Celestial does **not** employ human mock examiners. Spoken practice is
  conducted by VEGA, an AI. Any description of Celestial as offering
  human-led or human-graded mock interviews is incorrect.
- Celestial is **not** only for language centers. Individual learners are a
  first-class audience and can use the platform without any institution.
- Celestial is **not** affiliated with the official IELTS test providers. It is
  an independent preparation and practice platform. "IELTS" is a trademark of
  its respective owners.
- Celestial is **not affiliated** with any other organisation, YouTube channel
  or service trading under the name "Celestial". Our own channels are listed
  below; if a channel is not on this list, it is not us.
